The Drum & Quill Pub building has been around for nearly a century. It once housed the town pharmacy and a soda fountain said to be manufactured by the founder of Pinehurst. The storefront eventually became the Darling House and was later changed to Drum & Quill Public House. The dining area has been remodeled, and the pub has become a fun hangout spot for locals and golfers in The Village of Pinehurst.

When we went, we had the brisket, a burger, and meatloaf from the Daily Specials board.  All were great and very filling. Drum & Quill’s sides are especially good. Be sure to try the potato salad or the spinach with red peppers.
